Change and create
custom Layer Style |

These steps are for creating a finished print using
Templates Unlimited
templates with Photoshop CS
(but steps apply to most version of PS and Elements)

Unlimited and can be used with Photoshop or Elements

Layer Styles:
1. Double click on the text layer
to change layer style -- i.e. School/Team, Mascot, LastName, Year or FirstName
(NOTE: Double in area on
layer where no wording)
This will bring up Layer
Styles popup menu
Download basic instructions,
color combos (gradients) and layer styles
for how to add Artistic Action Layer Styles

2.
With the Layer Styles popup menu open click on Styles at the very top
left -- this will show all the layer styles currently available.
Click on anyone you like to
add to template.
IF you cannot find one you
are happy with then continue on to create a custom layer style. |

3.
To add a Stroke (outline
around text) click on Stroke and edit Stroke color and size

3a. Edit the Stroke color --
click on the Color: box on the Stroke menu then use the Eye Drop tool to
select a color from the photo or enter the RGB values in the Color
Picker popup
Experiment with this to
better learn how this works and looks and to get the best look you can.

layer styles.

4.
Change
text color -- click on Color Overlay |

5.
From the Color box
pick color popup -- color picker, photo using the "Eye
Dropper" tool or enter RGB codes into Color Picker popup menu |

6. Change the "Blend Mode" as to
what works look best. |

6a. Experiment with any "Blend
Mode" like
Normal
Darken
Multiply
Lighten
Overlay
etc
Optional change other
"Blending Options" then once happy add as new layer style by
Clicking on "new Style" and entering in name for this new style |

7. Copy and paste this new Layer Style to
other text layers.
Right click on any text layer that you
want to copy layer style from and select "Copy Layer Style" and then
right click on any text to copy layer style too and click on "Paste
Layer Style"
TIP: Once you are
happy with color and text for this template then save as a new full
layered Photoshop/Elements master for this team. Then all you need
to do is add photo and edit players name to create another print for
this team

Your print is now ready to Save As a new
image. Save As a JPEG to send to your printed or Save As a new
master template for this team.
